7-1. Switch Timing Rehearsal
You can control your speed by changing the tempo. You will learn to change the tempo by changing the switch timing in order to avoid slipping.
Entry and Catch
When you swim with a slower tempo, switch by connecting the hand entry and the catch motion.
Turn your hand to face your palm inward and the catch.
Use the hand in the water for support, quickly insert your other hand into the water.
Entry and Pull
When you swim with a relatively fast tempo, switch by connecting the hand entry and the pull motion.
When you insert your hand into the water, your other hand should pass under your shoulder.
Accelerate both of your arms at the same time.
Recovery and Catch
When you swim with a fast tempo, connect the initial motion of the recovery and the catch motion.
Use the catch for support, quickly move your recovery arm.
When you insert your hand into the water, push the water behind your shoulder with your other hand.
