Drill 1: Superman Glide
Drill details
This drill shows how to maintain balance and a relaxed body position.
You will glide through the water without kicking or stroking by leaning your body forward.
Extend your arms shoulder wide.
If the pool is deep, sink your body while slightly exhaling and lean your body forward.
Push off the floor while looking down. No kicking is necessary.
Extend the arms and place your hands 6 inches below the surface.
Maintain body balance while relaxing your arms, shoulders and legs.
Hands-on support
When supporting a child, fix his hands and head position while removing tension.
Hold his wrists lightly and pull them while stepping backwards.
Adjust his head with your fingers so that it hangs down.
Slightly lift his feet and push them forward.
Let them fall gliding through the water without any effort.
