Drill01: Superman Glide

Superman Glide is a drill that is designed to practice maintaining balance and a stable posture. You can develop a sense of falling forward by pushing off the floor while leaning forward.

Falling forward

1.       Place your hands on your thighs, keep your body straight from head to lower back, and lean forward.

2.       Fall forward and glide into the water.

3.       If the pool is deep, push off the floor.

・   Gain a sense of the water supporting your body.

・   Move the center of gravity forward right below the surface.

Superman Glide

1.       Extend your arms 4 inches outside the shoulders and 6 inches below the surface, and slightly bend your knees.

2.       Fall forward while maintaining the distance between the surface and your hands.

3.       Lean forward with your full weight and then push off the floor. Don't kick.

4.       When your posture becomes stable, relax your body.

・   Make sure you are well balanced by looking down.

・   You can reduce drag by keeping your legs together.
