Once you can swim freestyle with grace and ease, you will be able to swim faster and for longer.

By practicing drills, you will be able to acquire skills for easy and graceful freestyle step by step.

Steps to acquire skills

1. Balanced Body Position

First, you will learn to relax your body and take proper balance.

2. Anteroposterior and Lateral Weight Shift

Next, you will learn to shift your weight anteroposteriorly and laterally.

3. Tireless Flutter Kick

You will need to apply tireless flutter kicks into your swimming to practice breathing and recovery.

4. Stable Recovery

Stable recovery will allow you to swim with ease.

5. Propulsion with Switch

Switching angled positions produces propulsion.

6. Face-up Breathing

Once you can breathe facing upwards, you will be able to swim long distances immediately.

7. Sideways Breathing

Finally, upon acquiring the skills of sideways breathing, you will have completed freestyle.
