D10200-Introduction - Weight Shift

In Freestyle, you move forward by changing an angled body position to another.

This is called the switch movement.

You will learn the timing of the switch and how to move your hands on Switch while using the momentum you create when you push off the bottom of the pool.

You can get a gliding sensation by shifting your weight when you insert your hand correctly and when you switch your angled body position.

Approach

First, you shift your weight from back to front with a Single Arm Switch drill.

Then you shift your weight laterally with Single Arm Switch while you maintain an angled body position, and Switch with both arms.
